Day 204, Hatches covers, Cabin table, sealing fixed windows screws,fixed windows trim, hatches wells painting.

 Deck Hatch covers snaps installed. yes, I bite bullet, and drilled deck and installed snaps for hatch covers. Unfortunately it may lead to minor leakages after years, but i want to add covers to make hatches lenses lats longer as well add little shade in Texas sun. Hatches covers.  Interior Hatches Another compromise. When I installed for hatches frames I planned to make insert frames to cover gap between ceiling trim and hatches. Unfortunately, I had a lot of other things to do and they sill not be finished. Actually to put trim I need to make new trim frames around hatches wells, but i decided to leave it for future, but gap between lest unfinished rough fiberglass, so FOR now i decided just paint it to make it not so sore for eyes. It is only first layer of plaint on the picture. Second was added at the next day. Day 180 12/07/24 TIME TO SHOW INTERIOR & Cabin sole rebuild completed, Big cleaning.

Time to show  the new interior. Welcome on the board.     General. Almost all plywood in the interior replaced with couple exclusions - Port side part of main bulkhead, walls around the head, 3 panels left in galley cabinets and some solid wood trimming parts. New starboard main bulkhead mounted. Floor replaced with high quality hard PVC flooring.  All gelcoat (white) inside is slightly sanded to refresh it and clean of "ups" epoxy drops paint and 46 years weathering, polished and waxed. Galley New galley countertop, completely rebuilt all rebuilt galley cabinets. Added drawer under stove cavity. "cap board" rebuilt, shelves have roulette doors now, Big rolling out  drawer added under the cockpit sit. New combined electric panel. Icebox rebuilt to built in refrigerator. Microwave installed on the stove gimbaled shelf under the LPG cooking surface.  Plenty of 110V outlets  mounted to avoid any splitters.    Nav desk rebuilt, Installed na...

Day 118, 12/26/23 Fixed window ports replacement, Small things. 8 hours

 Fixed port windows  Made and replaced port windows, New windows screwed to the cabin every 75mm. Set on DOW795. fiberglass and gelcoat sanded with 220grit and cleaned with 50/50 IPA solution.  Detailed story is Here Interior Installed back finished doors in front cabin.   Installed head door.   Cabin sole. Tried to lite grind (350grid) stained floor gelcoat in main cabin under the table. Get pretty good results. Gelcoat has descent thickness to be re-sanded and re-polished.  Small piece at time. Was  Result   Refrigerator chest lid support Epoxied two slats on long side of opening.

Day 117, 12/16/23 Front cabin varnishing COMPLETE. 10 hours

 Interior. Both cabins, main and front one,  wood interior and  headliner 95% complete. What was done in the boat interior? + Galley rebuilt in the same shape as original. + New Teak wood butcher block countertop made. Individually made cover over the sink. All openings lids made without interrupting  wood planks. + Added flat locker under stove compartment. + Made starboard lockers over the settee top. + Duct work for A/C hidden inside the starboard top lockers to distribute cold/hot air in both cabins. + Ducts have button controlled flow redirect to switch which cabin gets more air. + Custom made wood air outlets with deflectors to distribute air more equally. + Custom made roulette type bamboo doors on all new lockers. + "bookshelf" on port side. + Made brand new cabin table from solid teak wood. + Rebuilt chart table, installed 21" built in display, made compartment and wall to mount electronics. + Replaced starboard bulkhead.  + Replaced all Window ports....

Day 114, 11/18, Head door dryfit, Priming all wood in main cabin with wood sealer before varnishing rush, 10 hours

Interior Head door When I bought the boat, head door wad lost. Looks it is time to make it.  I am looking to design and build door similar one to airliners toilet doors. Folding door will fold inside the head room. I have prepared Door panels and vertical parts of the frame with installed hinges. assembled and dry-fitted it to frame, after some adjusting was able to install it. Door opened Door closed (from inside) Galley cabinet door installation. Last door installed  (after 2 failure attempts :-))   Main cabin wood varnishing (including prep) This day I did 2 additional layers of wood sealer on plywood and 2 layers on all bare wood in main cabin.   All trimming is recovered original teak and new made panels are meranti marine grade plywood.  After first layers of sealer they started to play different colors and make nice two color interior accents. Next week plan to do final sanding and start to put varnishing (Gleam 2.0).

Day 110, 10/14, Front cabin and Head interior, trimwork, 10 hours total

Interior Front cabin  Completed wiring and connecting over V-berth lights as well as bright top light. Pit trimming around all corners and gaps.  Getting closer and closer to varnishing step. Some details Starboard  Port side   Head (toilet).  Only part left on side is mast cabling area.
