Day 208, Autopilot arm reinstallation, steering quadrant adjustment, waterheater installation complete. Navpod dry fit.

Autopilot Autopilot was installed a year ago. I did not have mood to finish installation. Steering arm was installed just on friction, and friction between bronze and stainless is not great. So time to time if I try to fight with autopilot arm slipped and whole settings appeared to be lost. Other problem if it slipped to counter clockwise  autopilot actuator and arm get aligned in line and actuator can't work at all. There key was missed, actually I had a key, but rudder stock did not have a key way. Trust me, cutting keyway in rudder sock with Drimel in boat yoga position was not a most fun experience. Rudder is in straight position. 90 degree between arm and actuator.   I have actuator mounted in diagonal between port side wall of the engine compartment and arm is installed on starboard side. It looks little strange but it saved a lot of space and let to have easy access to actuator motor.  Other view to the rudder stock   Other issue fix i pushed back foe a ...

Day 206, Rainy day, Shower thermostatic valve installation, V-berth (last piece, small pillow insert), Drawers stoppers, Finisted Fixed ports, ignition switch.

Shower Thermostatic valve installed. Button is to ope/close shower, and regulator is supposed to control water temperature. so far water is running and not leaking. Short glance under sink. Connection hoses have synthetic cover, hopefully will not disintegrate fast.     Fixed windows last touches. Painted frames inside in black to mach with silicon.  V-berth. Last touch here too. Rebuilt triangle insert and made a pillow for it. Put hinges on the bottom locker at cabinet and found the locker opening may play as step for V berth. BUT, it will be nice to make a step sliding out when door opened.  Head Added handles to head door, For now they are mounted on VHB tape.  Door, View from inside Door, view from outside Replaced drawer stoppers. LPG solenoid controller, ready for installation.

Day 204, Hatches covers, Cabin table, sealing fixed windows screws, fixed windows trim, hatches wells painting.

Deck Hatch covers snaps installed. yes, I bite bullet, and drilled deck and installed snaps for hatch covers. Unfortunately it may lead to minor leakages after years, but i want to add covers to make hatches lenses lats longer as well add little shade in Texas sun. Hatches covers.  Interior Hatches Another compromise. When I installed for hatches frames I planned to make insert frames to cover gap between ceiling trim and hatches. Unfortunately, I had a lot of other things to do and they sill not be finished. Actually to put trim I need to make new trim frames around hatches wells, but i decided to leave it for future, but gap between lest unfinished rough fiberglass, so FOR now i decided just paint it to make it not so sore for eyes. It is only first layer of plaint on the picture. Second was added at the next day. Hatch from inside Fixed windows trim.  Before start cutting real wood (teak) I have made two templates with 20mm and 30mm corners radius to dry fit shape to ...

Day 79, 2/25 Head cabinet rebuld 8 hours, Autopilot

Engine Check oil, Run engine  for 30 min on mid RPM. Made sure all warks. All looks good, little white "oil" smoke visible, smells like burned oil ;-)  Packing is not dripping, what me little bit nervous, however an hour ride next day did not heat packing box any. Cleaned contacts on engine to control connector. Oil pressure switch contact was lost. Interior.  temporary toilet. Made plywood plate to install porta-poty and installed holders to prevent it running around.  Cut extensive piece of sanitary hose.    Facet and sink Installed facet and sink, so we can use water here. Head cabinet . Built head cabinet back, panels made outstanding "countertop" for 0.5" to prevent plywood absorb water if something will be spilled on it. Glassed right wall to the hull and deck with one layer of 1708. Autopilot drive project  progress A lot of calculations and chasing ideas. So, final plan is to make design close to wheel drive, but "on steroids". Irwin 34 s...

Day 78, 2/11 Shower walls prep and painting - 6 hours

Interior Head walls painting.   Side by side - new and old. Little history Prep-work is done, ready to go. A lot of work, nothing to show ;-) Mostly it was a practice to use roll and tip technique and I think we had only 4 of 5 result. Looking back on job - we would need to put more brush thinner. But so far it is white! My wife maria greatestly helped with prep work and painting. I did just tapping. And all imperfections are on my hands. Masking tape left for coupe days to to let paint make good film. And final view Just me ;)   Other Just boat back view, it is hard to realize how beamy she is. I like beamy girls ;-)

Day 77, 2/4-2/5/23 Head bulkhead bottom knee glassing, Shower walls priming - 9 hours

Foggy morning...  Interior Head walls  Adding piece of teak to add bulkhead support and close hole in between main cabin and head. Glassing and filling was done in one cycle. Looks not perfect but filler will be sanded later. From the main cabin just glassing. Looks not superb, but functional. Walls priming. This day Maria helped me a lot in sanding and priming the head interior. Just finished priming. And after masking tape removal... Locker next to battery compartment. As i wrote earlier, I found pretty big completely enclosed compartment next to battery box on port side. I have made storage locker there. Main concern - I would like to have as much as i can access to internal side of the hull (just in case), as well storage volume always is handy.  Some work is left there - close bottom to prevent thing go under battery box. Structural I found the longitudinal bulkhead dividing starboard side to locker and engine "room" tabbing completely de-laminated. Likely happened ...
