Day 230, 231, Jailbreak Succeded

Jailbreak

Last two weeks was intensive.

I have bonded with transporter half year ago, and planned THE DAY 11/11 but everything went not as planned.

We have successfully completed transportation one day later ;)

But using other trailer than we planned, hauled out boat with help of other people, and puling trailer with other car than planned. But we did it!

Distance we traveled was about 220miles.  All went relatively good, only one problem happened, One of tires on the trailer blown on the middle of the road. But we did not have jack and tire wrench, so i had to ride to closest city on my car to buy them to replace the tire.

I agreed with my transporter to meet at matina about 6:30 AM to motor to Austin yacht club where we plan to pull boat from the water.

Early morning in Austin, on the way to marina.

Way out to freedom she will sail last time from Commanders point marina.

All ready for departure, just disconnect shore power and we are free to go.

GOOD BYE Commanders Point Marina, It was a great 4 years home, but we are going ahead.

Last glance to marina. Vira said "good bye"!

Last 30 minutes motoring in the lake Travis.
Motoring to AYC

Waiting for the trailer
Trailer arrived.

Loading was pretty long, nobody wants to go in the water to adjust trailer, in result we did about 4 attempts to load boat - check how it sits -  back boat - pull trailer out of water - adjust stands - get trailer back to the water and try again.

Checking if she sits comfortably

Ready to go on 3...2...1

We are clear of water

Almost ready to go.
About 11AM we have got "almost" ready to go. Exactly in the moment when Rob was ready to hook trailed to get on the road trailer owner(Fred)  shout "not so fast, i need to replace all 6 wheels bearings, you will be ready for road tomorrow morning".
It was quite surprise... Boatyard expected us on Tuesday, I had  to extend my off days, Rob did not plan to spend one more day on this.

All day Fred's shop worked on trailer, and released it only late night.

Vira on the trailer and ready for travel.

About 7 AM next morning we hit to the road.

Truck and trailer went first, and me on pickup "escorting" from the bak. main reason to be on the back was to give trailer space to change lanes.

Good start

The first coffee/restroom stop

Back to the road

Second stop, after we cleared out from Austin traffic.

Running 60 MPH in the left lane in Houston downtown ;)

About 1:30 PM  we where on boatyard.

Hour later Boatyard owner show up and spent about 20 minuted to start travel lift engine.

Unloading was simple and fast

Unloading Vira from the trailer.

Almost on place. Waiting to be blocked.

Blocked and waiting for my attention.

Boat sits on hard in 300ft from "big water" Me and She worked hard for this moment for long 4 years.

Next step in her life and a lot of work for next couple month for me - Bottom repairs, replacing thru-hulls, fixing strut, applying barrier-coat and bottom paint, preparing and painting topsides, re-coating 40 years old the mast.

See you soon!
