Started work on new cushions.
Ordered fabric and zipper parts from sailrite.com.
I decided to use Outdura chesterfield graphite upholstery fabric for cushions.
My order from sailrite.com
- 30yards ×Outdura® Chesterfield Graphite 54" Upholstery Fabric (1329) $22.95
- 1x YKK® #5 White Continuous Molded Tooth Zipper Chain $30.90 (Length: 50-Foot Piece)

- 2 × #5 White Metal Zipper Bottom Stop (Molded Tooth Chain) (Qty: 10 Pack)
Ordered Foam from Foam Factory, Inc
- Lux Regular Foam; Sheet Size: Full Sheet 82" x 76"; Thickness: 6"; $169 (for sit pillows)
- Lux Regular Foam; Sheet Size: Half Sheet 82" x 36"; Thickness: 3"; $43.99(for settee backs)
List of cushions.
- 2x cushions for V-berth, almost identical - 4" thick. Foam in good condition.
- Main cabin Port side big U shape bottom - 6" thick. Foam in fair condition, but I think about replace a foam.
- Port side over table pillow - 6" thick. Foam in good condition.
- Main cabin starboard settee. This settee had leaking fuel tank under and foam is a trash. Need new foam.
- Pilot berth, no pillow at all came with boat. Need new foam and template. Plan to make new one.
- Settee back pillows. I have original portside pillows set, but they was stored on wet garage and foam is not reusable in any sense. New foam needed.
Foam in 3 of 6 of my existing cushions is ok, no smell, no mold signs, so I decided to replace covers only on them.
Learned how ho make cushions.
Some videos from Sailrite was very helpful.
They are very similar but starboard side one has round corner, it is intentional.
One picture, but about 8 hours of work. still need some steaming.
Is it not bad for first in life cushions made?
